*Madrasi Kaapi House brings authentic filter coffee to Shark Tank India 5*
Authentic South Indian snacks paired with a hot cup of filter coffee is what the pitchers at Madrasi Kaapi House served the Sharks in an upcoming episode of Shark Tank India 5. Even as western coffee chains continue to grow across India, a hot cup of filter coffee still commands a strong and loyal following, being the second most consumed coffee in the world. Driven by a deep passion for coffee and a mission to deliver an authentic South Indian experience, Madrasi Kaapi House steps in this season to bag a deal.
Started in 2019 by neighbours-turned-business partners Venkata Shiva, Simran Venkata and Smita Rohan Alke, the brand now runs five outlets across Mumbai. Madrasi Kaapi House is an authentic South Indian QSR coffee chain designed to scale in a market still dominated by western formats. Built on a chef-less, process-driven model, the brand delivers consistency at speed and offers 30+ beverages from a single filter coffee brew, catering to evolving tastes without compromising on authenticity. To proudly take this Indian coffee mainstream, the founders asked for ₹75 lakh in exchange for 5% equity. Will the Sharks love the business enough to offer a deal, as much as they loved the coffee?
Sharing their experience, the founders said, "We started this journey with a shared belief that authentic South Indian filter coffee deserves a place in India’s mainstream coffee culture. Shark Tank India 5 is a once-in-a-lifetime platform for homegrown brands like ours, it gives us the chance to tell our story, challenge western coffee dominance, and take a proudly Indian brew to the next level."
_*Shark Tank India 5 is streaming on Sony LIV at 8pm and airing on Sony Entertainment Television at 10pm*_
