Paras Arora Joins &TV’s Gharwali Pedwali as Jeetu!

Staying true to its commitment to innovative storytelling, &TV to launch its latest fiction offering, Gharwali Pedwali. Produced by Peninsula Productions, this refreshing family comedy, laced with a quirky supernatural twist, promises a delightful mix of laughter, chaos, and heartwarming moments. At the core of this light-hearted drama is Jeetu, a simple man caught in a not-so-simple life. Raised by two mothers and two fathers, working under two bosses, and now married to two wives due to a strange twist of fate. To portray the role of Jeetu, popular television actor Paras Arora has been roped in, who is also making a comeback in the comedy genre space with the show. Speaking about his character Jeetu, Paras Arora shares, “What I find most fascinating about Jeetu is how he is caught between his Gharwali and Pedwali, constantly juggling the two worlds. The situations he finds himself in are bizarre, hilarious, and yet surprisingly relatable in a quirky way. Jeetu shares a different dynamic with every character in the show, which brings multiple shades to his personality. He is not particularly street-smart or manipulative, but his actions stem from a desire to control his life. There is an underlying innocence in him that makes the character even more endearing. One of the biggest challenges in portraying Jeetu is striking the right balance, making sure he doesn’t come across as either too clever or too naïve. Walking that fine line is creatively satisfying and making the role both layered and unique for me.”

Paras is excited to return to the comedy genre with the show, adds, “Comedy shows have become increasingly rare these days, and it’s a genre I genuinely enjoy. Indian television is rich in drama-based content, but very few shows today offer the opportunity to bring joy to audiences, and I see that as a privilege. It had been a while since I worked in the comedy genre, and when I read the script and understood the concept, I immediately felt a connection. Jeetu, as a character, really stood out to me, funny, sincere, and emotionally grounded. I am also excited by the cultural backdrop of the show, with many characters rooted in Uttar Pradesh, which adds a wonderful touch of authenticity.”
