 5th Edition of Culture Cinema (C2F2) to Celebrate the Power of Cultural Storytelling Via Cinema

*Official Selection Includes 45 Films from 19 Countries*

 

Mumbai – 28th October 2025 – The 5th edition of Culture Cinema (C2F2) will be held from 29th to 31st October 2025 at Amity University, Mumbai, bringing together filmmakers, academicians, and creative professionals to celebrate the world's cultures through cinema. Supported by CIFEJ, Culture Cinema Film Festival (C2F2) commemorates the UN-declared “World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue & Development. The 5th Edition is being hosted by Amity University, Mumbai, and will be inaugurated by Mr. Tim Curtis, Director and UNESCO Representative at the UNESCO Regional Office for South Asia, who will also serve as the Chief Guest for the opening ceremony.

 

Mr. Praveen Nagda, Festival Director of Culture Cinema (C2F2), says, “Culture Cinema was envisioned as a space where stories rooted in our traditions, values, and lived experiences could find their rightful place on screen. Each edition strengthens our belief that cinema has the power to preserve culture while inspiring change.”

 

C2F2 has a diverse Jury including global filmmakers, journalists, academicians, festival directors, and authors, including Aneisha Sharma, Archana Kelkar, Dr. C.K. Singh, Gabrielle Brennen, Jitendra Mishra, Kamlesh Udasi, Monarose Pereira, Prince Shadwal, Ramesh Tekwani, Ritesh Taksande, Rizwan Ahmad, Varun Gautam, Vedakumar Manikonda, and Vinod Ganatra.

 




Prof (Dr.) A.W. Santhosh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Mumbai, says, "The student is the most important person on our campus. Prof Rajesh Sisodia, Director, Amity Film School and Amity school of communication, Amity University Mumbai says, “This film festival is going to bring the much-needed exposure to young filmmakers and enthusiasts about what kind of creative work is being done in different parts of the world. Amity University Mumbai always supports cultural diversity, traditional values, and sanskars. A film festival dedicated to different cultures is very unique.”

 

“This edition year in our Official Selection we are proud to have 45 films from 19 countries including Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, India, Indonesia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nepal, Portugal, Russian Federation, Serbia, Trinidad and Tobago, United States of America,” added Mr. Nagda.

 

Over the course of three days, the festival will feature a rich lineup of film screenings, panel discussions, and cultural performances. Among the key highlights is the panel titled “Courage on Screen: The Business and Art of Patriotic Filmmaking,” moderated by Prof. (Dr.) Ambrish Saxena of South Asian University, featuring Mr. Ashish Kulkarni, Mr. Munjal Shroff, Mr. Ashok Kaul, and Mr. Akul Tripathi. Another major session, “Directing Change: Women Shaping the Future of Indian Cinema,” will focus on leadership, representation, and the evolving role of women in the entertainment ecosystem, with prominent filmmakers and academics sharing their insights. This panel will be moderated by Ms. Shubha Shetty Saha and Prof. Navya Singh, featuring Ms. Akriti Singh, Prof. Malati Rao, Ms. Rupali Saxena, and Ms. Piyana Bandyopadhyay.

 

The festival will also present an engaging selection of films that celebrate diverse cultures and communities, followed by a prize distribution ceremony and a cultural dance performance to mark its conclusion.

 

The 5th Edition of Culture Cinema (C2F2) reaffirms its belief that cinema is not just entertainment — it is an enduring cultural expression that connects people, preserves heritage, and inspires the collective human spirit.
