Siddharth Joins Freida Pinto in the Series Adaptation of Unaccustomed Earth
The Chithha actor stars as a devoted wife’s long-lost love.
September 11, 2025: Unaccustomed Earth, a series based on Jhumpa Lahiri’s award-winning collection of short stories, gains another fan-favorite cast member: Siddharth, the actor from Rang De Basanti and Bommarillu, will co-star alongside Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) in the eight episodes.
From The Pitt’s John Wells and 3 Body Problem’s Madhuri Shekar, the series is an epic, soapy, and culturally vibrant drama about a tight-knit Indian American community navigating love, desire, and belonging. Set in the interconnected immigrant hamlet of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Unaccustomed Earth follows a star-crossed romance between a devoted wife, Parul Chaudhury (Pinto), and her long-lost love — and the scandalous affair that ensues.
Siddharth will play Amit Mukherjee, Pinto’s character’s star-crossed love. Amit is a warm-hearted Bengali American man, born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, who wears his emotions openly and gives of himself freely, sometimes to his own detriment. The friend all his own friends turns to in a crisis, Amit is dependable in moments of need but struggles to find stability in work or love. Just as his latest relationship begins to feel promising, his carefully balanced world unravels with the unexpected return of his long-lost love.
Siddharth is not new to Netflix viewers: Earlier this year he starred in Test, a thrilling drama about three people whose lives converge at a cricket match, alongside actor Meera Jasmine.
